| Further information |
The LRBC has a club within a club - the Capital Balloon Club (CBC). The CBC currently owns one balloon, featured on this page flying in France, which is available for use by the members. Members can learn to fly in the balloon under instruction of one of the Club’s pilots or just join in the fun as crew. The balloon is flown all over the Home Counties and is taken to balloon meets around the UK and Europe.
In addition should you decide that you want to obtain your Private Pilots Licence (PPL) for Balloons you can make use of the CBC balloon if you have flying membership. The Club charges a flying fee to cover the running costs of the balloon. More details of using the balloons can be found in the Club Rules.
The balloon is a Lindstrand 77 which can carry the pilot and two passengers.
Of course most of our pilot members have their own balloon, or in some cases balloons and you may be invited to fly with one of them.
