If you would like to get to know more about hot air ballooning and you are in or around the London area - you have come to the right place. We have a balloon which you can use and a number of pilots and instructors who would be delighted to help. Ample opportunities exist for those who want to be around balloons but would rather stay on the ground. It's not the rich man's sport that you might think and if you can drive a car, a pilot's license is well within your grasp. It is essential that you do have your own transport as we fly VERY early morning or late afternoon. Unfortunately public transport is limited and is not geared to drop you off at a field in the middle of nowhere!! |
The cost of using the club balloon.
A charge is made for the use of the club balloon. The current charge is £60 for the first 4 hours in any one booking period. After that the charge reduces to £30 per hour. The fees are structured to allow weekend use and also use in Europe. The hidden costs are for the gas required for each flight and of course fuel for your car. For a flight lasting around 1 hour gas costs will be approximately £40. But do take into account that everyone in the basket takes an equal share of the costs. That equates to around £35.00 each as the balloon will fly pilot + 2 others. |
